Aarush 2018 (Job Fair)
For the first time in Goa, Goa Technology Association in association with Padre Conceicao College of Engineering hosted GTA Career Sprint on 20th January 2018. The event partner for the job fair was AARUSH 2018 - Lighting the Future. 31 Goan IT companies conducted live on campus interviews. 395 Students from all the engineering colleges in Goa, namely Goa College of Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Shree Rayeshwar Institute of engineering, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design and Padre Conceicao College of Engineering participated in the job fair. These students had the opportunity to interact with the tech entrepreneurs from Goa. The Vice – Chancellor of Goa University, Prof. Varun Sahni, was the Chief Guest for the event. He stressed the importance of using technology to maintain connectivity between Institutes and Industry. He also motivated the students to become engineers who serve society. The president of Goa Technology Association Mr. Mangirish Salelkar too addressed the gathering. He urged students to become engineers who are 'industry ready' and inspired them to work hard. The companies made a pitch describing themselves and the jobs that were being offered. They also elaborated as to what they expected from the students who applied for the various openings. The Chief Coordinator for the event, Head of the Training and Placement Office of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Mr. Niyan Marchon, was pleased that PCCE served as a platform for an event of this magnitude. He also stated that GTA Career Sprint was a wonderful way to connect institutes and industries and he looks forward to more events on a bigger scale. A student from PCCE, Nathan from BE IT stated that this job fair was an amazing opportunity for students from both a job as well as a learning perspective. He valued the words of wisdom he received from the various entrepreneurs he interacted with and felt that this job fair truly gave him direction.
Padre Conceicao College of Engineering in association with CONEXT (PCCE Alumni Association) organized ‘AARUSH 2017 – Lighting the Future’, the 3rd National Level Industry – Institute meet on 3rd March 2017 at the PCCE Auditorium. Professor Niyan Marchon, Chief Moderator of Aarush welcomed the gathering. The Principal of PCCE Dr. Luis Mesquita along with the Director of Agnel Technical Education Complex, Rev. Fr. Victor Rebello also addressed the gathering. Mr. Pravin Kamath Kumbla, Senior Executive HR Leader, Wipro Technologies, Bangalore delivered the keynote address on ‘VUCA world and our preparedness.’ His talk gave a new dimension to the audience as to how to understand the dynamics of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity in our lives. Talks were held by alumni and industry personnel for the students of the respective departments. Mr. Nobert Dsouza, Consultant, EIS IoT CoE, Tata Consultancy Services, Mr. Gajanan Nagarsekar, CEO Kallows Engineering, Mr. Sandeep Shanbhag, Software Engineer, Oracle Systems Ltd, and Ms. Snehal Bandekar, Application Support Analyst and Team Lead HCL Technologies addressed the students of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication. Dr. Suresh Mane, Principal GSIT Karwar, Mr. Mayur Kholkar, Manager Siemens, Mr. Kaustubh Masurkar, Senior Engineer, Mahindra and Mahindra, Mr. Laximan Desai, Deputy Manager, Field Maintenance in Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited, Mr. Myron Estibeiro, Lead Security Engineer Stalwart Systems, Mr. Rahul Prabhudesai, Project Manager, Persistent Systems Ltd., Mr. Agraj Agranayak, CEO, Imagineworks, Mr. Georgio Menezes, Project Manager, Numadic, Mr. Aaron Lobo, Senior Associate Lead Talent Acquisition, Infosys and Mr. Neenad Desai, CEO, Simplit Software Solutions Pvt Ltd.
Talk on Automation and Cutting Edge Technologies
Mr. Shashi Kiran R, product head of hffs, Bosch Ltd. presented a talk on Automation and cutting edge technologies in packaging at PCCE on 15th September 2016. Mr. Sudan Surlakar, HR Manager, Bosch Ltd. also addressed the students with regard to placements and job opportunities. Mr. Niyan Marchon head of TPO, proposed the vote of thanks.
Padre Conceicao College of Engineering organized ‘AARUSH 2016 – Lighting the Future’, a National Level Industry – Institute meet on 12th February 2016 at the PCCE Auditorium. Mr. Gaurav Gandhi, Regional Head - Academic Interface Program, India West at Tata Consultancy Services, Mumbai, delivered the keynote address on ‘The Skills for being industry ready in the Digital World.’ The others guests from the industry were : Mr. Suresh Narayan, Senior Manager Oracle India Private Limited Bangalore , Mr. Saurabh Nanda, Founder Vacation Labs, Mr. Muktar Kanaskar, Tech Lead - Fidel Technologies Pvt. Ltd Pune, Dr. Shrutin Ulman, Senior Scientist of Philips Innovation Campus Bangalore . Commodore K L N Chary, Project Director -Under Water Ranges, Indian Navy. Mr. Tulsidas Bannerjee, Consulting Advisor for Exide Industries. Mr. Siddesh Samant, Manager Plant and Piping Engineering L&T –Vadodara and an Ex-PCCE. he panel discussion on ‘Innovative and Best practices in engineering that will help bridge the gaps between Industry and Academia’. The panelists included Mr. Gajanand Nagarsekar, CEO of Kallows ( ex-PCCE) , Mr. Sachin Mirajkar, Senior Manager Netzsch Goa and Ms. Pallavi Desai, Head of HR Persistent Systems Ltd. Prof Niyan Marchon, Associate Professor – ETC dept and Head of Training and placement was the moderator for the panels and also the Chief coordinator for Aarush 2016.
PCCE AND CIBA HOST 'AARUSH 2015' – National Level Institute – Industry Meet Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE) in association with Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration ( CIBA) organized a National Level Industry – Institute meet entitled 'AARUSH 2015 – Lighting the Future' on 10th April 2015 at PCCE Auditorium. Dr. Luis Mesquita, Principal along with Fr. Peter Souza, Director of Agnel Technical Education Complex addressed the gathering. Dr. Joe Arun SJ (Director, GIM) delivered the keynote address on 'Building your competencies for a bright future'. Mr. S. Natarajan (Country Business Manager – Embedded Markets, Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore) addressed the gathering about the semiconductor domain and various career opportunities in this field. The bi-annual magazine of the college, the Newsline was also released. Mr. Ravi Kikan (Startup Specialist Mentor at CIIE, IIMA) spoke about Startup Ecosystems and one of the college's very own student entrepreneurs, Mr. Nagarjun Kinare, third year Electronics and Telecommunications student from PCCE talked about his very own company and the products 'Plugzee' and 'Wafer Tag' they have released. The event also featured two stimulating panel discussions on 'Bridging the gaps between Industry and Academia' and 'Igniting young minds to drive Technology Entrepreneurship'.
