Installation of the PCCE-ACM Student Council 2018-2019

The Departments of Information Technology and Computer Engineering, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering installed the third edition of PCCE-ACM Student Council on 10th September 2018.The installation was inaugurated in the presence of the Director of PCCE Rev. Fr. Anthony Castello, and the Principal of PCCE Dr. Mahesh Parappagoudar. The Chief Guest was Dr. Madhubala Talaulikar and the Guests of Honor were Mr. Ramrao Wagh and Ms. Maria Chaudhary.

The installation began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries as well as the heads of the departments of I.T. and Computer Engineering, Ms. Razia Sardhinha and Ms. Anusha Pai. The guest were welcomed by the Director and the Principal. Rev. Fr. Anthony gave his blessings to the PCCE-ACM student chapter.

The new PCCE-ACM student council viz. Chair – Ms. Dhruvi Patel, Vice-chair – Ms. Vaishnavi Nayak, and Treasurer – Mr. Shrinivas Pai Kane took an oath to serve in the PCCE-ACM student council.

The chief guest Dr. Madhubala Talaulikar (Ex. Research Fellow at N.I.O.) spoke about Geographical Information System (GIS) and its use in the present scenario. She also encouraged our students to select GIS as elective subject.

The guest of honour Prof. Ramrao Wagh from Goa University and chair of ACM Goa Professional chapter addressed the students on the benefit of joining ACM. He spoke about the ACM committee. He also laid emphasis on publishing papers under the ACM Banner.

The second guest of honour Ms. Maria Chaudhary from Oracle India and ACM India Council Member (Secretary/Treasurer) introduced the events that will be conducted under ACM in the upcoming months.

Mr. Rajas Shenvi Kakodkar from B.E. Comp. presented a report of the PCCE-ACM student chapter events of the last academic year 2017-2018 The faculty coordinator for the PCCE-ACM student chapter Mr. Siddesh Savant presented the vote of thanks. Ms. Aditi Silveira from the Humanities Department of PCCE compered the event.
